Cracked heels

Cracked heels are a sign of foot neglect, not just excessive exposure or lack of moisture

Medically, cracked heels are described as fissures (cracks on the heels). Heel fissures are always linearly cracked wounds and typically affect the extent of the superficial skin layer (epidermis). Sometimes this can go deep into the dermis and become painful. Dry skin surrounding the heels causes cracking and fissures on the heels. Cracked heels can also occur due to a deficiency of zinc and omega-3 fatty acids.

Skin fissures can appear anywhere on the body, but the most common area where they occur is on the heels and toes of the feet.

Dry skin on the heels is a common problem and can manifest on both heels or just one. However, cracked heels mostly occur on both feet.

Medical pedicure includes the removal of corns, calluses, and hard, dry skin, specialized pedicure, deep exfoliation, and a relaxing foot massage – an ultimate treatment for beautiful, healthy feet. Your feet will thank you!

It is an intensive, non-invasive treatment performed by our podiatrists that ensures the health and beauty of your feet, combining all the elements of our specialized podiatric services with the safe removal of corns, calluses, and hard, dry skin.

We recommend a medical pedicure every 8-10 weeks for grateful and healthy feet.

TREATMENT

Following the safe removal of corns, calluses, and hard, dry skin on the heels, a routine pedicure is performed – shaping, cutting, and polishing the toenails, along with cuticle treatment. The treatment will revitalize your feet, make them beautiful, and contribute to their health. Medical pedicure is carried out on dry feet to ensure long-lasting results, and a range of professional foot and cracked heel products are used, tailored to the patient’s skin type and the extent of damage.
